In-vitro diagnostics has depended on advances in photonics for decades to realize new frontiers in sensitivity. Great strides have been made in developing highly sensitive methods such as chemiluminescense, FRET, SERS and fluorescence confocal microscopy. Recently, several novel multiplexing schemes have been proposed and developed to enable the sensitive detection of multiple analytes. This presentation will provide an overview of the role of photonics in in-vitro diagnostics and highlight NOVX's approach to incorporating advanced photonics technologies into its products.
