This is a new high-level presentation with embedded video/audio clips to illustrate the effectiveness of newly-emerging technologies and their implications for business and consumers.
Topics included are: from convergence-to-emergence*; impact of wireless technologies; ubiquitous participation (UP!)*; return on intention - a new meaning for ROI*; from multimedia to multidimensional multimedia*; ampliflection* a new type of Internet-based marketing; adaptive mashups*; the 3D Internet and 3D photocopying; nanotechnologies including "gecko feet"; new-era displays; event-driven stream computing and its uses; robots that sense before they touch; privacy issues.The topics marked * are PricewaterhouseCoopers notions which have emerged during the course of our research and thinking, which appear to be both novel and important.

Dr. David Jacobson, Director Emerging Technologies, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
Dr. David Jacobson is DirectorEmerging Technologies, Advisory Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Toronto, and is the Canadian Member of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Global Technology Centre of international subject matter experts. He focuses on a broad range of emerging technologies and advises on their prospects in the marketplace. He is a Fellow of the IEEE (USA) and of the IET (UK), and is an Advisory Board Member of the premier emerging technologies journal, IEEE Spectrum. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK. He has a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London, UK and earlier graduated Cum Laude with a BSc (Eng) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. David's multi-faceted career as a former professor at Harvard University, a senior executive in international industry, in venture capital, R&D management, and technology advisory, brings a refreshingly unique view to this avant-garde presentation.
