The Canadian Photonics Consortium has recently completed an extensive survey of the status and impact of photonics in Canada. The study covers the photonics industry, the user community, university and government research and education. This presentation will discuss the findings and make recommendations as to how Canada can best profit from the photonics revolution.

Mike Scott, Bio
Mike Scott has held a number of senior executive positions in the optical communications industry, including Chief Technology Officer of Bookham and VP Technology of Nortel's Optical Components business. He is now an Adjunct Professor in the School of Management at the University of Ottawa and an independent consultant. Mike is a board member and advisor of several photonics companies in North America and Europe. He is Chair of the Ottawa Photonics Cluster and Executive Director of the Canadian Photonics Consortium.
