The Wireless Product Opportunity talk will review some of the products, both successful and not so successful, that have come out of the valley, some of the current "hot trends" and suggest some ideas on how these “hot trends” might be leveraged. This will be presented by Stu Jeffrey.

Stu Jeffery is now an independent wireless consultant. He spent many years with GTE in both military and commercial wireless communications. During the dotcom period he was a principal with several startups that developed wireless products for the cellular industry. Some of his recent projects have included municipal wireless network. He is on the board of Silicon Valley 's premier wireless professional organization: www.wca.org.

Caleb Dods, of Deloitte & Touche, will discuss the SR & ED Program and in particular the changes that will be occurring in 2009 to the T661 form that is required to claim the tax credits. He will also provide information on other provincial incentive and funding programs that are available.  As private funding is more difficult in this economic climate, these programs that provide government funding should be of interest.

Caleb has 12 years of experience in software development, application engineering and computer and network security in the telecommunications industry, including time spent at Nortel & Bell Canada. Since 2007 he has been working at Deloitte as part of the tax team, using his technical experience to help companies claim SR&ED tax credits.

Please join us to network and discuss the business of wireless with professionals from many corners of the wireless sector. The event is open to all wireless professionals free of charge.
