The SR&ED tax incentive program is the single largest federal program supporting business R&D in Canada, providing over $3 billion in tax assistance to Canadian businesses in 2006. The SR&ED program plays, and will continue to play, a leading role in fostering a competitive and dynamic business environment in Canada.
SR&ED Key Benefits:
- A tax credit as high as 35% refundable for qualifying Canadian Controlled Private Corporations or 20% on qualifying expenditures.
- Immediate deductions for all eligible R&D related labour, material, capital and 65% proxy for overhead costs.
- Additional refundable provincial tax credits for qualifying corporations (10% Ontario, 17.5 35% Quebec).
As the pace of business is accelerating and competition increases, you may be more likely to overlook this source of cash due to lack of time, resources or experience needed to identify and manage the SR&ED tax claims.
In light of the many complexities in obtaining full entitlement, we invite you to join us for a presentation and roundtable discussion. This session will focus on the following:
- Recent administrative changes to the program,
- Overview of the eligibility criteria,
- Planning around the credits,
- Best practices for documenting claims,
- Areas of scope that companies often overlook, and
- Results - PwCs recent SR&ED survey with its clients.
Who Should Attend?
Management, technical and financial personnel responsible for making the SR&ED claims as well as other stakeholders interested in better understanding the program and the recent developments.
